I bought this mount to hold an Acer Switch 5 (same form factor as the Microsoft Surface) and it does the job well. After replacing the weaker springs with the stronger springs that came in the box, my computer stayed where I put it. Replacing the springs was not an easy task and I had to open the ring on the two bottom springs with pliers to screw them into the designated hole at the base of the lever. It required some elbow grease! The larger holder uses a locking clip, which makes me nervous, but it didn't drop my computer. It also comes with a mount for small 8 inch tablets or phones. This one uses a spring-loaded mechanism that feels a lot sturdier. Overall I recommend this hand to anyone with a similar computer, iPad, Samsung tablet or phone.
