I really had no idea what it would sound like, I've never built a floor system before but it's a winner, winner, good bass, supper. I have them on my lanai with two Polk Atrium 8s powered by an OSD Nero Stream amplifier and the system has a nice smooth natural sound. Having no knobs on the subwoofer through the amp I had to rely on it handling the crossover and not being too obnoxious. I have 4 other surround sound systems in the house and this one has it's own unique personality, it's perfect for the outdoors and doesn't get too annoying with too much bass. It fits my setup perfectly and I am very happy with this unique passive subwoofer.
