Very good value for money!

The instructions in the product description on Mazon were unclear to me but those in the box were fine. My setup required me to adjust the bass on the receiver and now everything sounds fine. Of course, a bigger speaker gives more bass, but that's very good value for money.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Nothing here

Adds a little to portable bluetooth speakers

I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised at how much it adds to my existing speakers. I was able to install the SW in the corner of a concrete/stone wall. I've paired them with Kicker outdoor speakers and they sound really good together. I used 12GA speaker wire due to the distance to the amp.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Combined with the right amp (200 watts more) and with the right speaker wiring (dual voice coil so you can get 4 ohms) it produces a heavy punch at low end Frequencies, even on the road, the punch is not loud, but deep and rich. The right amp makes all the difference (recommended on the same subwoofer page is the one I have, but if you need more power get a bigger amp)

I wanted it to work, just no real power

I wanted it to work as badly as possible. Great idea for a patio. Bluetooth connectivity and outputs to power speakers. It sounded ok at very low levels, the problem is that it distorts at 7 on the scale and isn't loud enough below that. The output of the amplifier to the external speakers is too weak and the subwoofer jitters at volume 7. And it's not even loud. If they upgraded the speaker to 300 watts and increased the power of the external speakers, it would be the greatest patio invention…

Nice smooth bass hit

I really had no idea what it would sound like, I've never built a floor system before but it's a winner, winner, good bass, supper. I have them on my lanai with two Polk Atrium 8s powered by an OSD Nero Stream amplifier and the system has a nice smooth natural sound. Having no knobs on the subwoofer through the amp I had to rely on it handling the crossover and not being too obnoxious. I have 4 other surround sound systems in the house and this one has it's own unique personality, it's perfect…

Good price and good sound

I bought it because the size was perfect. My deck has flower pot holes so I built one of these into the hole leaving the top 5-6 inches sticking out. I have plants around it so it's hidden. This is not a subwoofer to shake up the club, but rather it tunes very subtly to my outdoor network (TIC ASP-120B). The bass is just there and doesn't hit your head, which is what I wanted out of a deck. The sound is rich and complements the main music perfectly. I use this on my own channel of a 4 channel…

Extremely disappointed with portable bluetooth speakers

I have a new 200w stereo receiver from Sony. I connected this speaker to the receiver and then to the outdoor kicker speakers to the subwoofer according to the instructions. The built in crossover didn't seem to do anything as the outside speakers sounded the same, which is fine, but this speaker had almost no bass and you could still hear higher pitched voices trying to play out of it. Very disappointed in him. It may need a dedicated subwoofer amp, but I think 200 watts is enough and there's…

Very surprised! the best of portable speakers and docking stations

I have a small 10x15 foot brick patio with two decent old 6.5 inch rock speakers that sounded ok but didn't have what just a umph subwoofer can offer. My musical spectrum ranges from rock, jazz, reggae, new country and electronic dance music. I like music! Since we spend almost every night by the fire, it's time to fix my missing system. I connected all the cables and placed the subwoofer on bricks in the corner of the patio surrounded by a vinyl fence. At first I wasn't impressed. Given the…

Decent sound quality, but there are a few quality control issues.

I bought this to set up outdoor sound reinforcement on my terrace. My amplifier is a Sony STR D500 5.1 receiver with a passive subwoofer. I use a set of weatherproof Pyle midrange satellite speakers. I chose this item as the subwoofer because it is the closest match (but not weatherproof) to the Sony passive subwoofer that came with the receiver. I don't use the speaker crossover feature - all my Pyle modules are connected directly to the amplifier's discrete channels. A couple of design notes.
