I have a small 10x15 foot brick patio with two decent old 6.5 inch rock speakers that sounded ok but didn't have what just a umph subwoofer can offer. My musical spectrum ranges from rock, jazz, reggae, new country and electronic dance music. I like music! Since we spend almost every night by the fire, it's time to fix my missing system. I connected all the cables and placed the subwoofer on bricks in the corner of the patio surrounded by a vinyl fence. At first I wasn't impressed. Given the size of the device, I was expecting more bass. Now this may be due to my amp or the lack of a previously installed larger gauge cable. BUT BUT BUT what I found was that this subwoofer has a built in adapter compared to my existing rock speakers, the sound is amazing. I have a much fuller, fuller sound with the bass that I was previously missing. Most of the time we listen quieter (background music). But when it's on, my system sounds great! Not too much bass, just enough to keep the music solid. Maybe I could use a bigger amp in the future but for now My Hideout rocks!
