Review on Xantrex Free-458 2000W 12V 100A M-Sine Inverter/Charger by Andrew Jenkins

Installed on my boat. This is normal for low power devices like lamps and TVs, but if you apply a large load, even a coffee pot, the voltage will jump from 110 to 140 and the device will burn out. I burned 3 coffee pots and a microwave with this item. I had another model that was 10 years old that did exactly the same thing and instead of having it fixed as suggested I just bought a new one. Wrong move. I have a different inverter, a different brand, in my RV and haven't had any problems for 3 years. I live in the LA/Ventura area and there is no local repair shop, I have to bag it up and send it in for repair which is expensive and painful. Buy another brand.
