The factory wiper arm on my 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis had loose springs, presumably due to metal fatigue with age. As a result, it left a large area directly in my field of vision untouched, especially at higher speeds. A new wiper arm usually fixes this problem, although I may need new wiper blades to fix it completely. The wiper arm comes with a small plastic clip that is designed to hold the wiper arm against a stop built into the car when you rotate the wipers. off (on these cars, the wipers go under the hood when doing this.) The original is rubber and the little plastic clip I got instead keeps falling off. Instead, I would install a rubber clip from my factory wiper. So save this clip from your factory lever. the supplied replacement is unusable.
