I want to start unboxing because although it has nothing to do with the product itself the packaging and presentation is of high quality and looks great. It really makes you feel good about the microphone you are going to use! I bought a D2 with two transmitters and one receiver. That's the idea for me and what I need this mic for as I can do interviews and record the subject and my mic in the same file. When I opened the packaging, I was surprised at how small the transmitter and receiver are. For the scale see the photo where I keep them. From an aesthetic point of view, this product is nicely compact. I have used cheaper wireless mics in the past and they were 2-3 times larger than this one. Of course, less is better. There are two ways to use this microphone. The receiver always attaches to your camera and the clip fits into your camera's hot shoe mount. The photo shows that I attached the transmitter to the collar of my shirt. The microphone picks up the sound very well. Another option, and probably the way most people will use it, is to attach the included lavalier mic and run the cord inside your shirt to a transmitter that attaches to your belt/clothing . This is the best way to make the microphone as discreet as possible. Even with the mic strapped to his shirt (to keep it off camera, the audio was perfect). Setup was very easy. The transmitter and receiver are already paired at the factory, so you can start recording immediately after charging (USB-C). I was surprised at how clear the sound quality was. In the past, when I've used cheaper wireless microphones, there was sometimes noticeable interference. BoomX-D delivers clear, interference-free sound. If you're looking to take your audio recording to the next level, I recommend the BoomX-D.
