Review on πŸš— Effortlessly Secure Your Car with EASYGUARD EC002 Smart Key RFID PKE Car Alarm System: Passive Keyless Entry, Remote Starter, Push Start Button & Touch Password Entry Hopping Code by James Oconnor

Removed after 5 years. Not worth the trouble.

Installed on a 2011 Toyota Sequoia. My main complaint is the passive keyless entry. It only turns on when unlocked with the remote control. It cannot be disabled unless you perform a boot cycle. When I unlock the car to get something out, it's a constant sequence of unlocking and locking by itself without me moving. The only way to turn it off is to start the car and turn it off again. My second complaint is that the remote start worked fine 9 times out of 10, but all too often the factory alarm went off until the engine ran for a few seconds. You never knew when it would happen, which is why I was always scared of remote starting my car. It's probably due to the incompatibility with Toyota and many ECU modules everywhere, but I've spent way too much time looking for this issue. Sometimes the car would be "locked tight" and you could only open the doors with the key. Remote unlock doesn't work. Again, it's probably a compatibility issue. The next problem was that the anti-theft device never worked. My car has been disconnected from the key fob multiple times and never turned off. The last and biggest problem that made me want to remove this system was that I sometimes had problems with the car not starting at all. This happened by accident. I took it to the dealer and they said it wouldn't start because of the immobilizer. I finished. With so many anti-theft features disabled, insurance may not cover losses due to modifications if it was actually stolen and recovered. This can be a good system for another vehicle that is not as secure. Now I'm back to factory settings. It just wasn't worth the effort.
