Review on VW Volkswagen Uncut Blade Keyless Remote Key Fob Shell Case πŸ”‘ - No Chips, Black | Jetta Passat Golf Beetle Rabbit GTI CC EOS by Brandon Mcvey

Great quality, a few installation issues but easy to fix at home

I ordered this to replace my daughter's key fob for her 2002 Beetle. The quality of the new case is very good and she is very satisfied. Although there was some trouble putting it all together (besides my own difficulties). It comes with a small screwdriver to take the key section apart - the tip of the screwdriver is too small for the screw and won't loosen it. Luckily I have a tiny set of screwdrivers so I removed them, but if you don't have one you could be in trouble. The biggest problem is that the chip space in the old fob isn't the same size as the new fob - the new fob is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller so I had to use a knife and razor blade to cut a plastic Sony that could fit . it and then a small piece of tape to hold it in place. A few tips: A folding key spring has points on each end that it captures in a groove. Make sure you put it in there (if you look at it you'll know what I mean, it's not difficult) and here's the part that took me a long time to figure out that you have the key twist and basically unwind the spring need two turns for it to open when the button is pressed. Don't bring it back until you've checked it out. And be careful when you first open it because things are flying around everywhere!
