Review on Olee Sleep Non Slip Support 14BF04F by Chelsea Young

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Yes, I attached the header and footer folks!

I'm so glad I researched for a month before buying. Breakdown: I have an old headboard and footboard that I don't want to part with, but since we moved into my current home two months ago, the master bedroom and dressing rooms are small. We needed more storage space (e.g. under the bed). So I ditched my old steel frame king bed with box springs and bought a much needed new 14 inch memory foam mattress with the intention of buying one of these. Problem: Some of these beds only have slots for the headboard. Some have no headboard option at all. This model has slots BUT ONLY at one end for a "headboard". and this was next on the list (although it was $13 more expensive). I took a chance, even though I knew it only had one headboard mounting slots, BUT I had an idea, you know. My goodness to add a footboard instead of a headboard. Place the headboard flush with the wall and the viola! And guess what, it works. I can find some thick zip ties this week to attach the headboard legs to the bed frame (which no one will see anyway), but so far so good. It doesn't rattle behind my back when I relax at school. My husband has offered to drill the holes himself, but he is currently on active duty somewhere in America. I didn't want to wait. We'll "check" the level of the rattle when he gets home, and we'll leave. Cons: Before purchasing I had to measure the shortest part of my footpeg design to make sure the frame wasn't visible over it. It's half an inch, but they were all or larger. But it doesn't matter when the bed is made. The frame at the end of the footboard is not visible when a sheet/blanket is placed over it. The first thing that drives me nuts is that the center support legs are visible from the side without the bed skirt, and I hate bed skirts (first world issues). But I'd rather have that kind of support than none in the middle. Another thing that I think will become an issue later on is the distance between the slats that the mattress rests on. There isn't a gap between them yet, but I plan to keep an eye on it. The last negative is that I don't think it will last many years. It claims to be made of "steel" but it's actually not strong at all like the frame of my old school bed. I'm sure this thing will still be around when the earth burns down and cockroaches become the only life form on the planet. Pros: The package upon arrival wasn't as big as I thought it would be. It was very easy to assemble. I asked my 14 year old son to help me move the box off the porch and my 11 year old daughter helped me assemble it. It took us maybe 15 minutes. I really think the build can be done on my own (my daughter took 9% of the effort to help out because her favorite YouTube jerk made a new post, whatever that means). I'm also happy with the overall height; Mattress and frame combined. My bed is 27 inches high which is fine unless you're a 5'8" little girl. My final plus is that it doesn't squeak when bouncing on and off and feels solid. No wobbles, squeaks, etc A few unsolicited tips: I had to buy a hook mount adapter separately so my footrest could hang from it (or headboard if you go that route. I foolishly got rid of my old frame without removing hooks.) I have them here Bought Revain but to my great disappointment the screws provided are too short to go through the legs of this Easy repair at hardware store with small dimensions I will say the footplate with the hook brackets attached is about an inch from the frame ( (not flush, see 4th photo). I don't mind it, but others might. Also, I don't find it necessary to buy an extra conversion plate for the mounts, at least not for me a footplate with the hardware already purchased. Extra HEAVY DUTY Headboard Hook Bed Frame Bracket Adapter Set of 2 Brackets with Hardware Bracket 711 Two reasons I deducted a star: I feel this item is overpriced compared to traditional bed frames which are made from higher quality, stronger materials is. Second, what's stopping a manufacturer from adding another set of slots for both the headboard and footboard? Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. I now have more under bed storage and look forward to collecting more junk in the future.
