That's exactly what I was looking for! My new fluffy baby is a rescued 2 year old Persian. He's about 15 pounds and about 2 1/2 feet long. I ordered another scratching post for him but it was too big for the closet or one of the platforms. This one is perfect! I just received it last night and barely got it together when it was already in. He doesn't really jump/climb, but he certainly enjoys scratching rope poles. The item weighs around 35 pounds and is very durable. So if things get more adventurous, he can jump off without tipping over. This scratching post is great value and ideal for large cats. I agree that the instructions are very small and a little hard to see, but all the parts are well labeled so it's easy to put together.
