Okay I bought this item to test a couple of supposedly bad hard drives we have and it didn't work or light up. I tested it on a new drive and it still didn't work. Then I thought the problem was my computer's port, tried a different port, worked great. And for the price, it's amazing. Many Thanks. It is best to buy this cable at least $20-$30. I'm glad I didn't accidentally return it. So if it lights up, it works and so does the drive.
