FAMPER Pro webcam - how good is it?

First of all there is a $20 Revain gift card in the box if the reviewer leaves a 5 star rating of the Revain. I just can't stoop to this level of unethical behavior, especially since this is NOT a 5 star camera. Of course, the camera helps you with basic visual communication, but the microphone is terrible and the lack of picture adjustments makes the picture look very unprofessional. So please take these 5 star reviews with a pinch of salt. It is very unclear which brand this camera is actually from. Windows selects the manufacturer as FAMPER. There is no indication on the box other than "Webcam", so it is not possible to update the driver. There is no driver installation documentation, so it's not possible to add image adjustment features if present. FIT The camera itself is very light and doesn't want to stay pressed against my monitor. The front clip under the camera lens should be 1 cm longer to cover more area of the monitor. The rear clip loop needs to have more strength so it can grip and pinch the monitor tighter to keep it from slipping off when it's hot. I would add a rubber bumper at the rear to improve grip. Mine seems to be holding up well, but my Logitech next to it is just holding tighter and more securely. CAMERA Without the ability to adjust the white balance or anything else on this camera, the picture looks very unprofessional. The picture does NOT look like 1080p. I would say 720p at most. My Logitech camera next to it has a much sharper image and a much better microphone. It's not really surprising, but despite all those 5 star reviews, I have higher expectations for this FAMPER webcam. MIC The mic is just awful. At a normal and light level of conversation, it does not increase very well. The mic also picks up a lot of bass frequencies, like the air conditioning fan in our building, so you hear that loud background hum on top of your voice. If you need a good microphone for professional conference calls, look elsewhere! I think for $20-$50 this camera is fine if you know what you are getting. Don't expect white balance controls or explicit driver support. The mic is terrible so expect people to ask you to comment. 3 stars and above will not be purchased Plug and play and easy to use.
