I've never needle felted before and this kit has everything I need to get started. There are many flowers and they are very beautiful. I appreciate that the set comes with lots of needles as well as a felt mat. I didn't think I would use finger guards but after poking myself a few times I decided they are definitely a must have! Plastic eyes, bead pins, and phone straps are nice additions, although I'm not sure I'll ever use them. Unfortunately the scissors were unusable as the blades were misaligned to cut properly. It's not that bad for me as I have a lot of other craft scissors. The storage box was a nice addition, but I ended up using a large art box made of wool and rugs. Finally, there is a strong odor which I believe is coming from the finger/thumb guards. Overall I like it as a starter kit. I already need more primary colors as it's not enough for big projects. Despite the smell and the broken scissors, I recommend this to anyone who wants to try needle felting.
