I received these charcoal water filters for my Keurig today. The first thing I see in the bag is charcoal leaking from a broken filter. Luckily each filter was in its own sealed plastic bag as otherwise it would be outside of the rest of the filters. Since these filters were packaged well and there was only a lightweight sleep mask in the shipping box, it's more likely that the broken filter came from the factory and wasn't damaged in transit. I chose one of the other filters because I've been using my Keurig without a filter since cleaning the tank and then realizing I ran out of water filters. I placed the filter in a cup of water, let it soak for a few minutes, and then ran it under the faucet to flush out any excess charcoal. Then I noticed that my hands and fingers were getting sticky where I was holding the filter. I thought maybe I had lotion on my hands because they were sticky from something oily. So I asked my husband to rinse this filter under the tap. Hands and fingers also became sticky. We both washed and dried our hands and then picked up the wet filter again and it was slightly sticky and our hands got sticky again. I have used Keurig brand filters for many years and they have never been sticky or oily. know if it's the glue used to seal these filters or whatever they are. I know for sure that I will not use anything that is obviously wrong and could clog my dear Keurig.
