Review on πŸ”Š Rockville ONE-Tower All-in-One Tower Bluetooth Speaker System with HDMI, Optical, and RCA Connectivity by David Naranjo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent inexpensive variant for PC speakers

Update: I have these speakers for almost 90 days. I downgraded it from 4 to 3 stars because: - Even when nothing is connected to them, they regularly make a faint but annoying electrical hum. Most of the time I like them EXCEPT when it happens and then I kind of hate them. The audio isn't loud enough to be heard when other activities are nearby or a fan is running, and can't be heard if you hear the audio through them. It's unmistakable in a quiet room - The beep when switching to Bluetooth is VERY loud and just as annoying. It can be heard in every room in the house. For this reason, I never switch to Bluetooth. If the slight hum doesn't bother you, it will. It's too stupid and the person who designed it to make that noise is either a sadist who likes to be annoying or needs to be checked out. - FM radio is basically useless. Its setup is a headache and its reception is terrible. These speakers are inexpensive and deliver a respectable sound at a low price, especially as PC speakers. Rockville needs to release the same version without Bluetooth and FM and lower the price by a few bucks. Would I buy them again? Possible, but only if I know of an equivalent alternative at the same price. I can ignore Bluetooth and FM performance by not using these features. That's exactly what I do. I don not need you. But I can't ignore the excitement which is why I deducted a star. --- Original Review --- Overall these speakers are decent and I would buy them again as they are great value for money. . The bass is definitely better than without a subwoofer. I was expecting less considering how cheap they are. Can't complain about what I paid for it, so I'm pleasantly surprised in that respect. If you adjust your expectations for the price, you'll probably be as happy with it as I was. If you're an arrogant audiophile who is very critical you certainly won't be blown away, but then again you wouldn't even consider such a budget option if that were the case. I like the remote control. It works well. FM radio reception isn't great, and blindly tuning up or down stations without knowing which station you're landing on leaves a lot to be desired. Do not buy this for an FM receiver. A small LED display to show the selected transmitter frequency would be nice. But it will also increase the price and I don't see any value in it. The FM receiver is something I consider a freebie and can be used, but I don't plan on using it very often. The shrill beep when switching to Bluetooth mode is very annoying. They don't have to be so loud and obnoxious to tell you that you've selected Bluetooth mode. If there's one thing you need most, it's the ability to independently control the subwoofer output. I wish it had more if it had a subwoofer volume control so I could increase (or decrease) the bass without increasing the volume on the left and right speakers to get more punch out of the subwoofer. TL; DR - This was the perfect low cost option for computer speakers that are better than regular computer speakers. They do their job well and I would buy them again. They're good, not amazing. The price is great and the value is appreciated.
