I let my daughter play with this supervised from about a year old. She used to be hesitant to brush my teeth but now she LOVES when I brush her teeth and I have a feeling it's because she gets to explore and play with these toy toothbrushes herself. I didn't have any loose bristles like other reviewers and my daughter didn't try to chew the rubber off the handle so can't comment on that. Personally, my daughter and I have thoroughly enjoyed this product despite the issues others have experienced.
