Negative reviews are true.

You get what you pay for and that's cheap bullshit. Many negative reviews say the boots are slippery. I wasn't sure what it actually meant until I used it. What happens is that the boots surrounding the clamps are made out of cheap uncured vinyl. This gives them a thin layer of petroleum lubricant. When you squeeze the cleats, they slide out of the shoe, or the cleat slides into the shoe. Replacing them is a chore, but more importantly, when trying to secure a fragile electronic part you risk damaging nearby components if the case slips off. Other reviews also said they had issues with the way they were crimped. . Now I know what they meant. In the electronics industry it is common for connectors to have two sets of prongs or teeth. The first bites the insulation, and the second bites the wire. It has only one crimp set and is based on folding the wire back for insulation. This is a glaring lack of quality. Additionally, it violates virtually every manufacturing standard in the electronics industry that I know of and is never tested here in the US by a manufacturer who adheres to industry quality standards. All in all, if you're just looking for something cheap and disposable I think they fit the bill, but if you're looking for something for everyday use in your tool bag or on your workbench and reliability is important to you, I probably wouldn't risk it using them, the chances of damaging your electronics are too high.
