I bought this because my mom is very impatient and can't wait for me to make the traditional ice cream. It was a great way to enjoy right away. As long as you can freeze it tight, it's great for the entire recipe in her book, plus an extra serving or two. The "hardest" part was waiting a bit for it to start freezing (took less than 30 seconds). Have made a few batches and still works great. Super fun to use. I've used traditional cooked ice cream bases and just chilled them to use with this one and they worked great. Good texture.
