With Opportunity Comes Complexity

The KX-TG985SK (released 2019) is the successor to the KX-TFG675 (suffix s or b for color) (released 2014) in Panasonic's flagship HD Audio range for private household applications. - Link2Cell - Bluetooth series. Nowhere in Panasonic's literature do you find "KX-TG985 is the successor of KX-TGF675", perhaps because the latter are in abundance in warehouses. The first (2019 edition) uses a different handset (KX-TGFA71 vs. KX-TGFA61 (2014 edition). I have both (in different houses) and the only obvious difference is the location of the buttons on the 2019 base (KX-TGF780 ) and on the phone, the phone and base show "KX-TGF Line" of the 2019 version. The manual for the 2014 version has disappeared from the Panasonic website, but you can use the user manual for the 2019 version as a replacement. The base 2019 Station layout is an improvement over the 2014 version Call barring is now the largest button on the base and is in a specific location (top, center) Panasonic's "Kaizen" philosophy (continuous improvement) at work models offer significantly better sound quality, especially when hands-free, than non-HD models. Some BT headsets (e.g. the Soundcore Q20) do not have the BT-Prof il. and will not pair, but Jabra BT headsets will pair with HD Audio w base stations with no problem. Link2Cell systems prior to the KX-TGF675 had unacceptable echo/Klingon/phasing effects when connected to a cellphone (C1 and C2, ie without using a fixed connection to a Panasonic base station), but both the KX and Both the TGF675 and the KX-The TG985 have very good duplex audio over the C1 and C2 connectors. I think the processor in 2019 version is faster than 2014 version. Tasks are faster e.g. B. Calls via C1 or C2. For users who don't want to read the manual and enter control codes from their phone, this model isn't for you, especially if you only need a wired phone for landline communications.
