Review on Premium Quality Stainless Steel Cheese Slicer by Bjorklund, Crafted in Norway by Kelly Frerking

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good slicer in the kitchen and dining room

I was looking for a good cheese slicer that looked like a 10 year old wooden handle that I've always had. It turns out that making a decent cheese slicer is difficult. Left to right we have Wustof - nice thin slices, very sharp but with an odd ridge on the back that turns the slices into scallops. Analog slicer - the slices are very thick, not very sharp, rips off the end of the slice instead of slicing cleanly, also scallops and makes a wavy cut, this is the worst slicer I've ever used. Next is the Hickory Farms made in Norway slicer - best slicer I've ever used, clean thin slices, no breaks at the end of the block, still works great ten years later. Björklund - Thin slices, feels sharp, small crack at the end of the block, overall this is the second best slicer I've ever had, it's almost as good as my old wooden handle slicer.

Pros
  • Graters, peelers and slicers
Cons
  • Lots of things
