Review on KOPALA 5.9-Inch Carbon Steel Quality Boning Knife Multipurpose Cleaver Kitchen Knives For Cooking, Camping, Grill With Leather Sheath by John Arrow

AMAZING KNIFE FOR THE PRICE!

This has to be the best inexpensive knife I have purchased, period! Now with that said I am somewhat of a knife collector and can tell when a knife is made well. I own Cold Steel, USA made Kershaw, Spiderco, Boker, ESEE, ZT, CRKT, Schrade and several others. I am not sure you could call this a kitchen knife but it would sure do the trick. It came to my door step sharp and after I took it to my strop it was surprisingly razor sharp. It is a little blade heavy but not to bad. The tang sits slightly above the scales but not annoyingly so and the spine is thick! 5.11 mm or .2015' according to my calipers. This knife is not perfect by any means but the build quality per dollar is outstanding. It weighs in at a nice hefty13 ounces and 15.1 with sheath. Its a little slippery to hold but with the giant finger choil and the thick spine its easy to hold securely. I have large hands and there is an easy 1/2 to 3/4 inch of handle left. The sheath is soft and supple with nice stitching and tight secure snap strap. On my knife the blades bevel is larger on the right hand side but not by much leaving me to believe its hand made. The spine is straight as an arrow and the over all quality is quite shocking for the price. It came well oiled and rapped in cellophane. If your going to wash this knife I would recommend drying it off right after wards and for long storage give it a little rubdown with oil, high carbon steels rust easy. The wooden scales are nice and flat to the tang with no gaps. As far as the actual steel its made of only time will tell on how well the blade holds up over time. The longer it holds its edge after using it multiple times the better the steel is. Its a very impressive knife with an amazing price point, its a beast of a knife that will fit in perfectly with my other camping cookware items. I am sure each one will be different so if you get a so so one I would defiantly replace it with another. I am going to purchase the other variant knife with the forefinger hole just to see if its as nice as this one. A shout out to KOPALA for helping the deaf, you guys make a great product, thank you!
