Review on ๐Ÿ”’ YakAttack LockNLoad Mounting System with Track Mounted Fish Finder Mount by Albert Lee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The mount itself is solid. The caterpillar you're sitting on may be a different story.

Very happy with this mount so far. The mount itself is very strong, but you also need to consider the rack you're mounting to if you need a secure mount. I installed mine on a Yakattack rack (plastic). Stability is okay, but I understand why some people criticize this mount as "unstable". Geartrac in my case made of plastic has some flexibility. This can cause the bracket to wobble slightly. I have a Striker 4, it's a small and light device, so that's not a problem. The moral of the story is, if you're going to mount a heavier fish finder on it, make sure you invest in a VERY solid mounting rail to get you over it. It is desirable that it is made of aluminum and has mounting screws on both sides of the rail, and not just one row of screws in the middle. Again, stability isn't an issue for lighter sonar units like the Striker 4. There's nothing wrong with playing a small mount. I bumped this mount really hard on the water and it holds tight.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Will be added later
