Very happy with this mount so far. The mount itself is very strong, but you also need to consider the rack you're mounting to if you need a secure mount. I installed mine on a Yakattack rack (plastic). Stability is okay, but I understand why some people criticize this mount as "unstable". Geartrac in my case made of plastic has some flexibility. Stable but a little wobbly. I mean, I don't feel like my FF is going anywhere, but it's noticeably more wobbly than my previous RAM mount.
