Tough and Reliable - Watersports

I didn't know what to expect and was concerned about the strength and security of this mounting option. After a few months of use and about ten kayaking trips, I'm convinced it's safe. Installing expensive electronics on a kayak (Hobie Outback) can be daunting at first, but this mount is secure and easily adjustable for best results. look at. At first I thought I would need a securing cord, but it would take a very long time to undo this attachment. It stays in place while surfing and is easy…

  • Confident

  • Everything OK

Great product for water sports

For those of you who have never used them, they are amazing. They also include a screw which I wasn't sure about being new to the products. It also fits the Mightymount XL rail. I bought the square design because I will be upgrading my viewfinder soon. I am currently using a Piranhamax 4 with a round base. This means that only 2 holes can be screwed on the left or right. Also, the base for this particular viewfinder will not be centered on the mount. Can ruin your OCD. Although everything fits…

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Works well with Perception Pescador Pro Gear Trac

Sturdy, well-made node. Has a lot of flexibility in positioning the sonar on the boat. The missing point is the lack of a clear explanation of how to attach the rail system (the video on the YakAttack website seems to skip this step). So I made my own video for those of you who might be having trouble. Ignore the comments that say this doesn't work well with perception from Gear Trac or other tracked systems. Update: I ended up removing the middle link from the mount because my kayak didn't…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

Need instructions for kayak accessories

The Garmin 4cv is perfect for this - although it didn't come with instructions it was easy to put the top on - the part that goes in the rail for Yak is another story - I'm no idiot, but either I have a missing base defect or I don't have the ability to tighten it when it's on track - all the videos I've watched using Yakattack have either been completely useless or show a completely different base than I - I'll make it work, but what kind of person? had to screw the base to the rail, fell out…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Attention: The base is NOT INCLUDED!

Pros: Holds my Hook2 5TS perfectly. I am satisfied with the stability and the simple construction. I can even tilt it slightly to make it "lay flat" (face up) when I want to get up to fish and look at the screen. This stand really does everything you need and can be configured in many ways. **Five Stars.**Bad: It's very expensive. Over $40 for something like this seems very hard for the price. ** Lose a star. **Ugly: The rail mount base is NOT included and is another $10+ from another seller…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Volume

Very happy with this mount so far. The mount itself is very strong, but you also need to consider the rack you're mounting to if you need a secure mount. I installed mine on a Yakattack rack (plastic). Stability is okay, but I understand why some people criticize this mount as "unstable". Geartrac in my case made of plastic has some flexibility. This can cause the bracket to wobble slightly. I have a Striker 4, it's a small and light device, so that's not a problem. The moral of the story is…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Will be added later

Stable but a little wobbly. I mean, I don't feel like my FF is going anywhere, but it's noticeably more wobbly than my previous RAM mount. Also, it doesn't have as many settings as the RAM, but a simple rotating base makes up for it! Once you have placed the base on the rail you can remove/install the pole with a simple locking mechanism. This locking mechanism has the added function of squeezing the latch and only raising it about 1/2 inch, after which you can rotate the entire mount. This…

  • The best in its niche
