I received this because my computer decided to shut down without warning, sometimes mid-sentence. I did some research and found that it might be because it's getting too hot (not that I've been able to figure out where to SEE how hot it's getting), so I decided to try a cooling pad. Cheaper than a new computer, that's for sure, and easier on my nerves so I don't have to yell matches at a black screen after losing a job I was working on. It works out. Or tap on wood, plastic, metal and laminate. Leaves - this still works. No problems in a few weeks since I received the cooling pad. Of course the problem has been sporadic so I'm not sure if this is the reason my computer won't shut down BUT I'm not complaining even if it's a placebo. The light doesn't bother me while I'm working and the switch is easy to reach so I turn it off at night when I close my laptop. It even provides you with a USB stick to use for whoever it "occupies". Cool beans. pun and such? ;)
