Reusing the factory driveshaft bolts saves me money and gets me back on the road faster, but for $15 it's WORTH IT! It's cheap insurance to make my gimbal replacement a success! My project involves replacing my original driveshaft which was a factory OEM Ford. They lubricated the undercarriage of my 1998 Ford Crown Victoria. Although the factory Ford U-joints have not yet been completely removed, I decided to replace them as they are original and have a high mileage of 140,000. After replacing them with a Spicer 5-1330X and new Ford OEM driveshaft bolts, my crown Victoria drives like new! The screws stayed in place because I hadn't tightened them. Absolutely necessary if you are removing the driveshaft for ANY reason!
