Poorly cut washers

My only real problem is washers. Almost all have extra plastic in the center and around the edges. I have to cut off the excess just to use them and I've had to throw away a lot. I still have to save some money. The few that actually cut and fit properly I have no problem but once you put them on the eye they are there! I've been using this product for a year for small amigurumi projects and love how "finished" my dolls feel. Unless you're making something really, really small, you can use something with wider washers, or use glue as a backup prop. These pucks are about an inch wide and if you're doing a large crochet project I wouldn't recommend making something that isn't seen as a decoration because a stubborn and determined kid could probably pull it out, the washing machine and the like if he gets enough trouble. As an aside, I've used the smallest eyes for some crocheted desktop nacks made with embroidery floss instead of yarn and it works really well for that, but it uses a B1 size hook and these little dolls' heads have girths of maybe 4cm or 5cm in total, so much more support and resistance from the pull out. because a stubborn and driven boy could probably get it out, the washing machine and all, if only he would try hard enough.
