Review on Gopala 6FT (1.8M) Cisco Console Cable - USB to RJ45 Cable with FTDI Chip by John Floyd

Whenever I connected my cable to a Cisco switch/router from any host computer, each terminal showed a blank screen with just a cursor and nothing happened when I pressed a key. I have a different console cable and have tested and compared the RJ45 pins on the two cables. Luckily, Revain made it easy and included a pinout (on this webpage) of the cable that corresponds to the pin numbers. My wire colors turned out to be in the correct order (1=brown, 8=green) but I think they swapped the entire pin causing the pins and colors to mismatch. For example (RJ45 pin) 1=green, 8=brown etc. I had spare RJ45 pins and a crimping tool. I then replaced her pin with mine, in the right order of course. Boom! It works out! Please send me a working one next time :) It's been a while since I posted the original comment, luckily the company contacted me and offered me a brand new one. Good service!
