
This stepper motor fits my application very well and exceeded my expectations. 2200 RPM, which translates to 11,000 mm/min or over 400 inches per minute for a 5mm pitch. The mass moved during these tests was 60 pounds. Of course, the torque at this speed is practically negligible for a given voltage, but it is still an indicator of where the limits are. Some details of the tested setup are given below. Motor driver: M542T (4:1 microstepping). Power supply: 48V/5A (adjusted to 49.5V). Meanwell NDR series. Coupling. Methods: NSK 35 mm linear guides. Ramp profile: trapezoidal curve at 600 mm/s^2. While I haven't tested this, I believe the voltage limit for this motor is around 60V, so a few hundred can be squeezed out. more rpm.Other comments:1. Because of the large shaft size, cheaper non-bolted couplings are bulky and poorly balanced.2. Separate cable connectors - most inexpensive stepper motors are like this, but I would prefer them as cables, or even better, fixed bullet connectors like a standard M12 connector.
