Works great and very quiet

I just moved into a new house. About a month at home. I installed a generator and found that there was water all over the place under the house. Summers in Virginia are very hot and humid. All my life I can't understand why they don't change the code in VA and stop using those stupid valves. They don't work in this climate, but I digress. I use this in my crawl space. I had condensation on everything (I mean everything). As I crawled around it felt like it was splashing under my house. There were little puddles of water everywhere where mold had started to grow. I have decided to abandon this device. I routed the hose through the side of one of the vents. I used styrofoam to block the vents and spray foam. Before I started, my relative humidity was 77% and the air was very cool and heavy. I shot it on Saturday afternoon. It's Monday morning and I'm down to 58%, so it's working like a champ. I'm sure my level will drop to 50% in the next 24 hours. The setup was a little strange as the app itself seems buggy, but after a few tries I was able to connect it to the network and now I can control it remotely. It should only take a few minutes, but the app is a bit buggy. I had to start from scratch and spent over an hour setting it up. For example, my phone would switch to landscape mode when I was moving, and the app would force me to start over every time this happened. I use an Android phone. The app certainly needs some tweaking, but it works once you set it up. I just had to be careful and hold the phone upright. After setting it up, I turned it off and put it under the house. I had to start over because my settings weren't saved. It takes a few minutes for it to find the network, and for heaven's sake, make sure you clear the passwords and SSIDs it preassigned. You must delete them and enter them manually. It's set in the settings to be honest, but it's just crazy, you have to do it. I'll update this review at the end of summer after it's had time to keep everything nice and dry under the house. Overall I'm very happy with it, although it was a mess to install, once up and running it works flawlessly. Much better than the units you buy from Home Depot or Lowes.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Nothing
