This mat does an excellent job of picking up 80-90% of the cat litter that would otherwise be on your floor. It works well with all types of cat litter. It is very durable, washable and should last for several years. To empty the mat, there's an outlet in the middle that allows you to toss the trash back into the bowl, which is the only downside (for us). We have another similar mat with a stopper at the END that makes it easy to tip loose material from side to side. The center crease on this one appears to be blank for "Finnish," and it's not exactly our cup of tea; You must be careful not to spoil the content. Other than that, it's pretty good.
