Fits 2014 Ford Escape Hard to replace

Works just as well as factory but cheaper. The only problem is that it's just as difficult to work with as the factory. That was the hardest cabin filter change I've ever done. Located under the passenger's feet. First you need to unclip the two plastic latches holding the top panel under the glove box (you'll find out when you get there). You will then need a T20 Torx bit to remove 1 screw holding the cover in place. This is the easiest. Once you remove the plastic cover, the fun begins. For some reason Ford chose to place the fuse box and other wiring just in front of the filter; Do not pull the filter straight out. Instead you have to drag, rotate and extrude the filter. It can bend and crease, but you don't care, you just get rid of it somehow. However, once you try to put a new filter in place, you'll realize just how awful its design really is. There is no easy way. Since you want your filter to be as clean and undamaged as possible, you will try it multiple times from different angles only to find that it won't happen. They even think that the $90 dealer commission didn't seem so bad after all. But fear not, just take a deep breath and try again. Just this time feel free to pinch the sides together (to make them look like an hourglass) and that should shrink them enough to clear most of the clutter. Don't worry, this won't ruin the filter, it will return to its original shape. They will bend and twist a little, but not close enough to damage it. After passing the wire and fuse box, it should spring back into the bracket. Even considering it only took me about 15 minutes to make it myself, I'm not looking forward to the next replacement. I am sure that by then I will forget the bad and only remember the good and will place another order. But I'll leave that to my future self.
