They work, better than pins. Keep in mind that you will need to drill two holes in the center or buy a step drill which I couldn't find. I have a problem is that the two ends are slightly different. One side is 5.98mm and the other is 5.83mm (see picture), the difference is enough for the 15/64" drill to fit the side with the screw, but the threaded side will not fit without clogging. The 1/4" drill bit is too big and will leave a gap around the screw.
