I used a cheap little guide I bought off eBay a few years ago before similar items were widely available so my bar here so far is pretty low like that expectations go. I say this, but at the same time I used it to shave weekly so I know what works and what doesn't. Aside from reviews where people say they didn't receive the product as described, I received a well-packaged product that included a manual, beard comb, instructions, and a pen. A package alone is enough for a gift. The quality of the instructions is solid enough and I don't feel like it breaks and I love all the options it gives me to detail my beard. The rubber has a nice feel, and the translucency, dimples, and dots help you use the guide consistently, knowing that not all faces are the same. I think it's well thought out. I've used it for both an electric razor and wet shave and I'm happy with both. Nothing to regret.
