Compare and contrast

Giving away 3 iPhones for Christmas this year and wanted extra protection in the form of a cheaper branded case than my usual brand (Otterbox regular). So you immediately have an identical design (maybe in a different material, but I'll get to that later). I bought 1 to try on my iPhone and I have to say there are differences and not all in favor of Otterbox. First, the task of opening a case is similar to the Otterbox experience with one difference. I use the tip of a metal nail file to open the clips. In this case I almost broke the clip when I noticed that the black clip had a white "streak" when I opened it. Don't worry, it didn't break, but be careful opening it for this reason. Second, closing a case is what you would expect, click, click, click and you're done. Third (and last) the flex shell was a little tricky to install, but once complete the fit was as tight as can be. It is recommended to start at the area that has already made final contact and run your fingers along the edges from there. Attempting to push the cover back into place will result in the screen protector wrinkling and possibly getting damaged, although I was very careful and the screen protector is stain free = stain free. Make sure your phone's glass and screen protector are fingerprint free as you will NOT want to take this case apart again to clean it. As with anything, removing the outer shell again causes stretching. I can't remember when the old case started losing its shape, but the end of the otter case was lost enough that I was able to bend it enough to comfortably plug in the charger. Let's see how this case develops. I will update it in a few months. Much luck! UPDATE 4/11/19 Case works exactly like the more expensive Otterbox. The rubber sleeve has retained its shape to this day. As far as I know it works just as well as the other brands. Would definitely buy it again. The protrusions on the power button and charger have fallen off (similar to the Otterbox), but the shape of the rubber remains the same. The rubber seal still has its original shape. I just upgraded to the iPhone 11 and will certainly get a case for it.
