I bought this specifically to show where my cat pees. This light will NOT indicate urine stains. I KNOW a cat peed on the carpet the other day, but I don't know where, and this light shows me nothing. I even shone this flashlight into the tray to test it and it doesn't even show urine in the tray. However, it shows every tiny smudge of grease on your kitchen cabinets, if that's what you're interested in. Oddly, it also glows on all my light switches and doorknobs - so that means it's catching bleach and/or Lysol because I've been wiping down those areas fairly consistently due to COVID. If you want to buy this light to check for urine stains, forget about it and save your money. Buy another light because this one shows nothing. I'm really annoyed and frustrated because I have an issue with a restless pissing cat and I really need this light to help me. I'm returning it to Revain. Requires 3 AA batteries. Not AAA as stated elsewhere.
