Review on ⏱️ Farberware Protek Compact Digital Timer in sleek Black by Mark Glass

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect Kitchen Timer

I purchased this timer in mid-November 2009 from Fred Meyers in Fairbanks, Alaska. used it many times daily for the next ten years, only to let it "pass by" in mid-November 2019. Okay, I figured I'd find another one online quickly; Boy was I wrong! I searched and searched. eBay, Farberware and others. no fun. I found it here at Revain but it was "unavailable and don't know when it will be available". Drat. What to do? I went ahead and bought another Farberware kitchen timer (digital display but rotating timing ring and push button switch). Okay, but it wasn't what I wanted (only cost me $5 + another $5 S/H on eBay). So I was pleasantly surprised when I received an email from Revain that it was back in stock. I jumped on him. $19.99 (plus shipping) is an excellent value given its ruggedness, ease of use, and proven durability. My new purchase arrived in the mail today and lo and behold I noticed that it has a 12 hour format in addition to the timer (hours and minutes, no annoying seconds)! It seems the previous one also had a built in clock, but in my initial rush to use it I couldn't RTFM! I need this clock - I don't have one in my kitchen and I didn't want to buy a ceiling clock and ruin the cabinet door panel. PROS: Easy to use. There are four controls in total: stop (red), start (green), hours and minutes (both black). Large, easy-to-read display. Uses one AA battery (no fuss about odd sized round batteries and/or indoor access). CONS: No!
