We live in an area prone to tropical storms and hurricanes and would ideally need a battery powered fan in the event of a power outage. Through a Consumer Reports desk fan review, we found this Honyin desk fan and it was the best choice we could make. These fans are powerful enough to replace the tower fan that we finally lost after a hot summer. I was shocked at how quiet it is at low speeds. I've used it at virtual meetings, family conferences, doctor visits and every time you can't even hear it on low speed. As it can be rotated 360 degrees it is perfect for a desk as you can tilt it to the angle you want without blowing the documents onto your desk like a standing or tower fan. It appears to be made of thick, durable plastic. It has a wide base, making it almost impossible to knock over. It was amazingly affordable and all indications are that it's worth more than its cost! We highly recommend this.
