I put it in my car to make it look like I have a security system. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it flashes sometimes and stays on sometimes. I haven't figured out why it does this - haven't found the pattern yet. But I think both make people think there's a security system in place, so it doesn't matter. FYI, this can be set to turn on when the machine is off and turn off when the machine is running. Connect the positive wire to the always-on positive wire. Then connect the negative wire to the POSITIVE wire, which only turns on when the car is on. When the car is turned off, the "positive" wire becomes negative again, completing the circuit. When the machine is on, the light connects to the two pluses, so it doesn't light up.
