Review on πŸ’§ Stay Hydrated on-the-go with CamelBak Octane Dart Hydration Pack - 50oz by Ryan Williams

Perfect size for half marathons and short distances

I am a long distance runner and was looking for a good hydration system that is lightweight so I can take it with me on long training runs or races without support and medical facilities. This CamelBak was perfect! I'm small and wanted something that wasn't bulky or heavy. Each pocket has enough space for a phone, key ring, ID card and credit card (if needed) and maybe a small snack or energy gel. When the hydration bladder is full it will limit the space in your bag a bit, but you still have room for everything you need. Usually, a half full bladder is all I really need to run a half marathon before finding another source of fluids or heading home. When the reservoir is full, it will sometimes leak a little if the cap is not screwed on tightly or the threads are misaligned. So be careful when you fill them all the way up. I love how easy it is to take the camera off and put it back on with the side zip, it makes it easy to clean. The straps are soft and breathable so I haven't had any issues with chafing or discomfort in my shoulders yet. The only thing I would change might be to add another strap that goes across the chest or across the abdomen in addition to the one I have to better place the weight in the lower back. It's fine, but it does cause some upper back discomfort due to the extra water weight in the bladder for extended periods of time, and I've had to dump some of the extra water while running to get rid of the pain. Weight for back and neck pain relief. Other than that, this is one of the best camelbaks I've ever had.
