Searchlight with mechanical errors

I took it on a diving trip in Roatan, Honduras. First, it's a SPOTLIGHT, not a beam. So make sure you want broad coverage but not focused. Other night divers were a bit upset that I turned night into day! It can work well as a wide ambient light for photography, but not very well for spotting life on the reef. Also, after about the third dive, the colored light button appeared. Luckily I saw it and was able to restore it. A special tool was required to remove the switch, replace the button assembly, and then reinstall the case. I'm quite skilled and have a large selection of tools at home, but it would be deadly if it happened on a trip or during a dive. I could have sent it back but I fixed it anyway. All in all the lantern is solid and the people who said it was difficult to open are right. I'm 6ft 2in and quite strong and this gave me an opportunity to make money. Again, these aren't necessarily deal-killers, but it's good to be informed. Spot beam because that would probably suit me perfectly. The red and blue coloring seems more of a gimmick and I don't need it as a diver. Anyway hope this helps someone. Happy diving!
