Review on Soundbar Sonos Beam Gen2 black by Jnis Zeile ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not my best purchase, you could have found something else.

the paradox is that I don't like this soundbar. too much it depends on the source, in some places the sound resembles the built-in TV, in some places it resembles a full-fledged 5.1. there is an important caveat. I love volume in movies where the voice on the screen sounds about the same as if this person were talking to me in the room. but if you prefer it louder, like in a cinema, so that the direct sound of the movie muffles everything around, then you will like this soundbar more than I do. result is like this. I do not really like this soundbar, but there is hardly anything better for this money. The JBL may sound a bit better (not in everything), but it looks and feels like a much cheaper gadget.

Pros
  • beautiful packaging, he is beautiful and heavy, it feels nice. overall control is convenient. sounds good in places. I would even say that in films with some kind of surround sound, there is a certain feeling of the sound of a full-fledged home theater. in films with a Dolby atmosphere, there are a lot of bottoms. in games there is no superfluous sound at all, let's say superfluous bottoms, where they should not be. hi-fi systems often sin with this. pleasant indication, not annoying, but also informative. extremely adequate touch control. good volume, you can do it loudly, at the level - not to hear each other. there is a night mode that is difficult to activate (in the depth of the application), but someone may find it extremely useful. nice soundbar and compact.
Cons
  • stereo sound is unreal hat. speech is unintelligible, the sound is just crap, it sounds cheap. I repeat, it is in stereo, that is, YouTube or Twitch if you watch it, it's just unpleasant to listen to. the application is almost like a guard. on the one hand, there is a sound calibration using an iPhone. Well, I calibrated, the result is zero. he switches there before / after, generally zero. and my ears are more or less normal. paradox. there is a nuance with volume. I think it's non-linear. You're watching Nolan's Batman. I make it louder, but the volume of the voice rises slightly, but the sounds of explosions and other loud events - significantly. this can be a plus if you like direct loudness, but I don’t look like that, so for me the readability of voices always wants more. By the way, there is such a function, it is also hidden deep in the application, it is inconvenient to use. the volume of the voices increases, but not adequately everywhere, in some places the hump on the equalizer on the middle ones just twists crookedly. To be honest, I miss the remote control. so let there be these night modes and voice amplification. maybe something else. yes, the volume switches itself, from any remote control, but I don’t want to go into the smartphone for important functions. and there is also a simple equalizer, high and low. well, they feel extremely unnatural, I would leave them at 0, because as if they are already superimposed on the sound at a high level, that is, they worsen the sound in general. Dolby Atmos is not quite real here, it is, as it were, simplified, relative to the Sonos Arc. but thank you for at least that. And, ah and music, sounds extremely mediocre.
