This tester worked great! And it saved me a lot of money. The only problem I had was keeping the heater coolant from expanding too much into the tester (which would affect the color), which I solved by simply sticking my thumb in the top of the radiator to check the coolant level to lower something. It gets hot, so a rubber glove helps. The tester showed that there is NO leakage in the engine through the cylinder head gasket. The mechanic was wrong. Instead, the mechanic installed a faulty thermostat that opened when the temperature got too high. Problem solved.
