Alright. One of the problems I solved for family gatherings was that we never had enough counter space. So this product allowed us to go vertical! I also bought separate rectangular serving plates so the width is smaller than the dinner plate but the length is much longer so more food can be placed on it but takes up less width. But this product also made us rise. The stand isn't the biggest and was a little crooked before we put the cymbals on it, but it's good value and the cymbals were all leveled when in place. It definitely improves (pun intended) the presentation of the food if you're currently only using dinner plates as serveware. I don't see any disadvantages or compromises. It looks better as a dinner plate to serve food to guests, you can have more food in the same area on the counter, and its use is more like an event. It worked out great and there were a lot of comments and couples talking about how great it would be for their dates. It's so open to what it's designed for, which can be desserts, meats, fondue sauces, etc. Some tiered display cases can be so specific that you might only use them for cupcakes. It's versatile and you can always find something to tuck into. You can also simply use the trays as serving platters if you don't want them to be elevated.
