The suction cup was surprisingly large compared to other radar warning mounts I've had. I expected the suction to be reliable since it has a snap closure. I followed the directions starting with clean glass. I then used an alcohol wipe, which came in handy for removing oil or other dirt. I installed it the first time by removing the protective cover from the mug, so I'm sure the mug and windshield are clean. I snapped the lock to secure the mount and attached my radar detector, thinking it worked well despite the cup size. I returned to my car about 12 hours later for a 12 hour drive and found the bowl had stopped sucking. Both the suction cup and the detector hung from wires that powered the detector using my rearview mirror as the source.
