Lid not what you are looking for

Unfortunately these covers are being returned after three days of trying for a number of reasons. 1.) On first use, out of the bag, the first lid I tried had a small laceration in the center when pulled over a can of dog food. On the second use, the small notch ripped open to the brim. 2.) Caps are difficult to stretch and do not stretch as much as expected/needed. Gaps in coverage between incremental sizes because the smaller size does not expand enough to fit the container and the next larger size is too large to seal the container. 3.) When you find the right size lid, close the cylinder tightly like a tin can. However, they are difficult to apply to a conical bowl as they curl up on the sides you are not working on. Even when you think you've finally made it, you come back after a few minutes to find the lid has rolled up the sides and is now sitting on your food. 4.) When washed in the dishwasher, transparent lids become dull due to water stains. Disappointing but tolerable if not for other issues. Finally, these lids can be smaller than you would expect. The watermelon pictured must be one of those little personal "minis". not the ones you talk about at family picnics. The manufacturer needs to find a better flexible silicone that stretches more with less effort, withstands repeated use, and doesn't leave gaps in the coating between larger caps. In the event of a solution, such a product has great potential. Until then, I advise against buying it.
