Review on Compatible Treater Replacement Cartridge CFS by Tommy Almasri

I was tempted to buy this filter thinking it was an OEM replacement. When I opened up the filter canister and removed the old OEM filter I saw that the old OEM filter had a central core of water treatment pellets as described by the trade name "The Heater Treater" filter on Revain. As much as I paid for the water heater, I want the chemical protection option. This cheaper filter is completely hollow and empty inside. Also, this cheap block doesn't include a large spare O-ring. So if you damage the existing o-ring when disassembling the filter housing, you won't have hot water until you get another o-ring. I am returning this cheap fake for a refund and buying the original to fully protect my water heater.
