At first this device was fun. He sliced the bagels safely and gently dropped the slices from underneath as I lifted the handle. It was a bit of a hassle to clean, but I have found that test tube brushes can clean the blade and plastic body. After a few weeks he started pressing down on the bagel and curling up the edges while I cut each bagel in half. The final straw was that he made 2 cigar-like slices because the blade was pushing down on the bagel halves as it was being cut. I was so disappointed - I had to unroll and flatten the bagels to fry them! The product went in the trash 6 weeks after receipt. Beware!
