3 pins have manufacturer defects with extra plastic material around the base as shown in my photo. These pens are not the same quality as the pens that come with the new enamel pens I buy as the rubber on them is not as strong, they bend more easily and it is harder for me to to remove them from the pins. . But I haven't used them yet and probably won't. If I had known, I would not have bought them because I was looking for replacement pinbacks, just like the ones on my pins. Although other people might like them.
