I've had this old magnifying glass desk lamp for many years - it had an 8 inch fluorescent bulb which wasn't very bright. Haven't used it for a long time - too many issues with the kind of light it gave. This LED is 9 inches in diameter - and after removing the old light clips - and the magnifying glass (which I rarely use anyway) - I was able to just squeeze this new light in, I had to bypass the ballast transformer - which was very easy. Was very pleased - now the lamp is much lighter without that glass lens - easier to maneuver - and much brighter.
